(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (2-1-2, 2-0-1 in ACCAC) put its offensive firepower on display on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Field against GateWay Community college (0-4, 0-3).

- The No. 9 ranked Aztecs scored five goals in the first half and seven in the second half to beat the Geckos 12-0.
- Freshman Hannah Romero (Tucson Magnet HS) and sophomore Dameris Canto (Sahuaro HS) each scored a hat trick.
- Sophomore Samantha Mendez (Tucson Magnet HS) scored a goal in each half while freshman Ava Dagnino (Salpointe Catholic HS) had three assists for the game and helped secure the win with Pima’s final goal in the 69thminute.
- Sophomore Kristal Navarro (Tucson Magnet HS) scored a goal in the 35th minute to make it 5-0 and also had an assist to Canto’s second goal in the 55th minute. Freshman Yajaira Cervantes (Tucson Magnet HS) also had a goal and an assist for the game.
- Freshman Anaya Guadian (Casa Grande Union) added two assists.
- The Aztecs finished the game with 24 shots on goal. Freshman Angelina Moraga (Sabino HS) closed out the game with three saves in the first half, Sophomore Brooke Valencia (Sabino HS) played the second half and had no saves.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday when they host Glendale Community College. Game time is set for 5:45 p.m.
