(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (4-1, 2-1 in ACCAC) earned its first shutout victory of the season on Saturday in its 2025 home opener at the West Campus Aztec Field.

- The No. 7 ranked Aztecs scored three goals in the second half to down the Geckos 4-0.
- With the game scoreless for much of the first half, the Aztecs got on the board when sophomore Nathan Flores (Alhambra HS) scored with an assist from freshman Leonel Gutierrez (Salpointe Catholic HS) with a little over a minute left in the half.
- The Aztecs set the tone with an early goal in the second half. Sophomore Lae Soe (Cortez HS) received a cross pass from sophomore Edgar Leyva-Miranda (Desert View HS) for the goal to make it 2-0 in the 46th minute.
- Freshman Sean Ribadeneira (Pinnacle HS) netted his goal in the 77th minute with an assist from Flores. Gutierrez capped off Pima’s scoring with his ninth goal of the season in the 89th minute.
- The Aztecs finished with 17 shots on goal. Sophomore Alex Cristerna Oleta (Tucson Magnet HS) closed it out with one save.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday when they host Glendale Community College. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
