Track & Field Earns 3 Golds in Texas, Move Up Several Places in National Rankings

(Lubbock, TX)   Sun Devil Track and Field competed in Texas Tech’s Red Raider Open Friday and walked away with three gold medals and eight top-5 finishers. Justin Robinsonpicked up a victory in the 400m, Dayton Carlson won the 800m, and Lena Lebrun won the mile. ASU now has 11 national top-50 marks after the second meet of the year, with the men putting six in the top-50, and the women putting four. ASU returns to the track Jan. 27-28 for Arkansas’ Razorback Invitational.

ASU’s top national mark is Robinson’s 46.16 in the 400m. That moved him into second in the country. Carlson’s 1:48.46 in the 800m ranks sixth in the country, while Jalen Drayden’s21.00 in the 200m ranks 14th. The women’s highest-rank individual is Christina Warrenwhose triple jump mark of 12.65m/41-6 is 22nd.
