(Tempe, AZ) Sun Devil Beach Volleyball senior Sarah Waters was named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team, recognizing her strong performance in both the sand and in the classroom.
This is the first CSC academic award given to a Sand Devil in program history. Waters recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a 3.86 GPA.
To be nominated for an all-district award, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December. The award was previously from CoSIDA, but the organization recently changed the name to College Sports Communicators. For the complete list of winners, head to CSC’s release here.
Waters wrapped up her career by upping her individual wins total to 43, which is tied for eighth in the ASU record book. She has 10 wins in her career against pairs from ranked teams. In the 2023 season, she had a team-best record of 14-9 alongside junior Taryn Ames. They had five victories over duos from ranked opponents, including two wins over Arizona pairs.
