(Aliso Viejo, CA)  The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced its winners Monday afternoon for volleyball players of the week presented by Athletic Solutions, tabbing Park University Gilbert’s own Lainey Calvary as Attacker of the Week and Adrianna DeMario for Setter of the Week.

This honor comes after the key role Calvary and DeMario played on the offensive side of the court, leading the Buccaneers to a 2-1 week at home. Monday marks the first time this season, that a Park-Gilbert volleyball player won GSAC Attacker, Defender, or Setter of the Week.

Calvary had at least 10 kills and a .200 attack percentage in each of Park-Gilbert’s three games this week. Against Life Pacific Friday evening, Lainey led the Bucs with a season-high 14 kills and posted a highly efficient .522 attack percentage. The junior transfer from Spokane, Wash., also made an impact at the net with 15 total blocks. So far in 2026, Calvary has the sixth-most kills (49) and the ninth-highest hitting percentage (.231) in the GSAC.

Demario played a pivotal role in orchestrating the Buccaneers’ offensive efforts last week, racking up 124 assists and 29 digs over the last three games. Her best outing came on Friday evening in Park-Gilbert’s thrilling five-set victory over Life Pacific, where Adrianna posted 46 assists, 10 digs, and four kills. DeMario was two digs shy, on Saturday against Lake Forest, from having a double-double in all three games. This is the first time she has been awarded with GSAC Setter of the Week since joining the program last season. As of now, DeMario averages the third-most assists per set in the GSAC with 7.68.

Calvary, DeMario, and Buccaneers hit the road for California this week as they return to the court this Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. MST against Caltech in Pasadena, California.
