(Glendale, AZ) Four Arizona Rattlers, two on offense and two on defense including two rookies, were named to the All-IFL First Team today.
Offensive lineman Kristopher Stroughter was named to the team for the second consecutive season, both of those with the Rattlers. Wide receiver Arland Bruce IV, in his second year in the league and first with the Rattlers, was honored for the first time. Defensive backs Yahsyn McKee Sr. and Carl Decius, who were both named to the All-Rookie team earlier this week, were the other two Rattlers named to the first team.
Stroughter, 6-foot-5, 330 pounds out of Fort Hays St. University, has appeared in all 17 games for the Rattlers on an offense that is second in the league in total offense with 255.8 yards per game and tied for fourth in scoring at 50.2 points per game.
Bruce IV is second in the league in receiving yards with 955 yards and fourth with 75 receptions. He leads the Rattlers with 19 touchdown catches and has two rushing touchdowns.
McKee Sr. and Decius anchor the backfield on a defense that has 29 interceptions this season, 10 more than any other team in the league. McKee has 11 of those interceptions and Decius six.
The Rattlers head to the Western Conference championship game against the San Diego Strike Force on Sunday. It is the franchise’s 13th appearance in the conference title game in Kevin Guy’s 17 seasons as head coach. The Rattlers have been to the championship game nine times under Guy, winning five titles.
