Isaac Johnson secures third selection as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College men’s basketball player Isaac Johnson (Oakland HS, CA) was instrumental in another pair of victories during the week of Feb. 15-21.

Johnson, a sophomore guard/forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the third time this season. He received previous honors for the weeks of Nov. 2-8 and Jan. 18-24.

He averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists while shooting 83.3 percent (15-for-18) from the field in Pima’s wins at South Mountain Community College and against Glendale Community College.

Johnson is averaging 17.6 points while shooting 71.9 percent from the field. He is also averaging 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks. He has played and started in all 29 games so far this season.

The Aztecs closed out the regular season with a 104-66 win over Mesa Community College to close out the regular season at 30-0 overall and 18-0 in ACCAC play for the second consecutive year. They will be the No. 1 seed for the Region I, Division II Tournament. They will host a semifinal game on Thursday, March 5 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
