(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College men’s soccer player Leonel Gutierrez (Salpointe Catholic HS) has produced a solid start to the season, and his efforts were noticed by the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference.
Gutierrez, a freshman forward, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week. He scored four goals and had one assist in Pima’s wins over Chandler-Gilbert Community College and GateWay Community College during the week of Sept. 7-13. It included a hat trick in their win over the Coyotes.
Gutierrez leads the ACCAC with nine goals as he has played all six games; making five starts. He also leads the team with 19 points.
The Aztecs will host Community Christian College in a non-conference contest at the West Campus Aztec Field on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Then they get back to ACCAC conference play on Saturday against Paradise Valley Community College. Game time at 5:45 p.m.
