(Flagstaff, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s cross country team completed its first race of the 2025 season on Saturday at the George Kyte Invitational at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, AZ.
The No. 23 ranked Aztecs took fourth place out of five teams with a score of 110 points in the Open Race Division. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University placed first with 15 points and Central Arizona College took second place with 52 points. The Aztecs beat Coconino Community College (115).
Sophomore Karlee Pope was the top finisher for the Aztecs in the 2.5-mile race as she finished in 13th place out of 57 competitors with a time of 18 minutes, 09.5 seconds.
Freshman Madeline Mitchell (Tucson Magnet HS) finished off the race in 20th place and was clocked at 19:10.2.
Sophomore Elexia Aragon (Flowing Wells HS) earned 24th place after crossing the finish line at 20:08.4.
Sophomore Elizabeth Coppola (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) was 26th with a time of 20:42.9 while freshman Angela Stinnett (Sahuarita HS) closed it out in 27th place at 21:09.4.
The Aztecs will compete in the Embry Riddle Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Prescott. Race times are TBA.
