Jaylen Alexander scores 37 points in two games to earn third ACCAC Division II Player of the Week honor

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College men’s basketball player Jaylen Alexander helped the Aztecs continue its winning ways with two victories at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium for the week of Feb. 18-24.

Alexander, a sophomore forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the third time this season after he averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assist. The Aztecs beat Phoenix College (122-81) and Glendale Community College (117-88). Alexander also went 13 for 23 (.565) shooting and 11 for 16 (.687) from the free throw line.

He was previously rewarded with ACCAC Player of the Week recognition for the weeks of Dec. 3-9 and Feb. 4-10.

Alexander has played in all 27 games; making 26 starts and is averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

The No. 14 ranked Aztecs have three games remaining in the regular season as they play at Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday in an ACCAC conference matchup. Tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
