Distance Medley Relay team earns NJCAA National Qualifier at GCC Indoor Invitational

(Glendale, AZ)The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed in its fourth meet of the Indoor season on Saturday at the GCC Indoor Invitational.

The No. 15 ranked Aztecs earned another NJCAA national qualifying time and now have 11 total national qualifying times and marks so far this season.

The Distance Medley Relay team of freshmen Linda Rivero (Desert View HS), Tayler Crane, Alyssa Perez (Agua Fria HS) and Reatta Danhof (Ironwood Ridge HS) set a national qualifier after they finished second with a time of 13 minutes, 04.72 seconds.

Freshman Larissa Blanchard (Perry HS) took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.90 seconds as she improved on her qualifying time by three seconds. She is No. 2 in Indoor season school history.

The Aztecs will compete in their final Indoor season meet on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff. Events begin at 2:00 p.m.
