(Gilbert, AZ) Park University Gilbert Campus Vice-President Yira Brimmage has announced the promotion of Angelique Claussen to Interim Director of Athletics to replace Jeff Fore who has accepted a position as Athletic Director at Missouri Baptist.
Claussen has been the Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator at Park Gilbert for the past year.
“We are pleased to have a person of Angelique’s credentials here to run our athletic department,” said Brimmage. “She has done an amazing job since joining us last year and I know she will do a great job moving forward.”
Claussen got her start working in athletic departments at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., where she was a marketing intern. In this role she researched creative marketing ideas and prepared fan databases along with preparing and executing marketing plans for all 24 sports at the university. During this time, she also worked as a Guest Relations Representative for the Indianapolis Colts.
After a year, Claussen was then made a Senior Marketing Assistant where she handled gameday productions and preparations for all sports at the university as well as execute special projects for various sports and university events.
She graduated from Indiana University in December of 2015 with a BS in Kinesiology, Sport Marketing and Management along with a minor in Business and Marketing. In the fall of 2015, Claussen completed an overseas study exchange program, at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia.
Claussen then enrolled at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., to earn her master’s in education and sport management, which she accomplished in May of 2018. Once again, she participated in the overseas study abroad program where she went to Dublin, Ireland, London, England and Paris, France. While at Kansas she worked with boosters, and hosting hospitality rooms at men’s basketball games for the Williams Education Fund.
