(Mesa, AZ) The beach volleyball team continued in the California Pacific Conference jamboree on Saturday afternoon, dropping all five matches to the University of Saint Katherine.
A handful of pairs took their opponents to three sets. Grace Baker and Georgia Romine-Baker played a competitive match in the No. 2 position, claiming the second set 21-16. Samantha Washmuth and Brooke Beresford also saw three sets, defeating USK’s Mackenzie Nutting and Aubrey Cardoza in the first.
The No. 4’s (Jasmine Urban/Brittlee Harper) and No. 5’s (Railey Druxman/Mallory Turner) both dropped 2-1 against USK’s squad. Annika Wallace and Megan Hicks were swept by the No. 1’s Olivia Ledda and Alexcis Morris from Saint Katherine 2-0.
The Buccaneers return to play on March 12 at 9 a.m., hosting Colorado Mesa University at Bell Bank Park.
