Buntin nets another hat trick as Aztecs Women’s Soccer overpowers Yavapai College

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (10-1, 7-1 in ACCAC) picked up its fifth straight win on Saturday after beating Yavapai College (7-6, 6-2) at the West Campus Aztec Field.

The No. 3 ranked Aztecs earned their 10th shutout win of the season after blanking the Roughriders 4-0. The Aztecs won both matchups against Yavapai this season.

Sophomore Delaney Buntin (Cienega HS) scored her third hat trick of the season. She put the Aztecs on the board in the 12th minute with an assist from freshman Meredith Scott (Walden Grove HS). The duo of Buntin and Scott connected again to put Pima up 2-0 in the 27th minute. Buntin notched her third goal in the 42nd minute with an assist from sophomore Caitlyn Maher (Catalina Foothills HS).

Sophomore Mari Acosta (Sahuarita HS) added another insurance goal for the Aztecs in the second half as she found the back of the net in the 52nd minute with an assist from sophomore Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro HS).

Sophomore Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) and freshman Adriana Pacheco (Cienega HS) each finished the game with two saves.

The Aztecs will play their final regular season home game on Tuesday when they face off against Paradise Valley Community College at the West Campus Aztec Field. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
