Aztecs Women’s Soccer gets shut out at Arizona Western College

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (12-2, 9-2 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season on Tuesday in a tough matchup with undefeated Arizona Western College (12-0, 10-0).

The No. 3 ranked Aztecs (Division II) fell to the No. 13 ranked Matadors (Division I) 2-0 in Yuma. The Aztecs were shut out for only the second time this season.

The Matadors got their goals from Victoria Clark and Cianna Thomas in the 9th and 78thminutes respectively.

The Aztecs finished with five shots on goal. Freshman Adriana Pacheco (Cienega HS) was at the net as she finished with 13 saves.

The Aztecs will be the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Tournament. They will host No. 3 seed Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the West Campus Aztec Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex. Game time will be at 6:00 p.m.
