Aztecs men’s cross country takes fourth place at ACCAC Championships

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s cross country team competed at the ACCAC championships on Friday at Freestone Park in Gilbert.

The Aztecs finished in fourth place with a team score of 115 points. Mesa Community College took first place with 33 points while Central Arizona College was second with 35 points. Paradise Valley Community College finished in third place with 52. Phoenix College was fifth with 149 points.

Freshman Emmanuel Corral (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs in the 8K (5-mile) race as he took 18th place with a time of 28 minutes, 36.4 seconds.

Freshman Avery Dylla (Ironwood Ridge HS) placed 23rd with a time of 29:11.9 while freshman Caleb Rayman (Cienega HS) was 25th with a time of 29:32.4.

Freshman Brendan Torres (Empire HS) crossed the finish line in 26th place at 29:56.8 and sophomore Zach Zobak was 35th at 31:20.5.

The Aztecs will compete in the Vaquero CAMPY Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Central Arizona College. The race begins at 7:00 a.m.
