(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (2-0) played its first road game of the 2021 season on Tuesday at Glendale Community College (0-2).
The No. 3 ranked Aztecs defeated the Gauchos 7-0 to secure their second straight shutout of the season.
Sophomore Francisco Manzo (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored two goals and had two assists in the game. He scored his goals in the 60th and 72nd minutes. He assisted in the first two goals of the game.
Sophomore Taein Ka scored two goals. He put the Aztecs on the scoreboard with his goal in the 32nd minute and later made it 5-0 with his shot in the 65th minute.
Freshman Jacob Garcia (Walden Grove HS) had two assists for the game. He found Manzo for his first goal in the 60th minute to make it 4-0 and found Ka for his second goal in the 65th.
Sophomore Ulysses Torres (Sunnyside HS) scored a goal in the 38th minute to make it 2-0. Sophomore Sam Lossou (Rincon HS) netted his goal late in the first half (41st minute) with an assist from freshman Jesus Virgen (Sunnyside HS). The Aztecs led 3-0 at the break.
Freshman Issack Nunez (Tucson Magnet HS) capped off the scoring with his goal in the 89thminute.
The Aztecs finished with 17 shots on goal. Sophomore Juan Suarez (Desert View HS) finished with five saves.
The Aztecs will head back out on the road to play at Mesa Community College on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
