FROM THE TIP

Arizona will face their second-straight top-10 opponent when the head to Corvallis to face No. 10 Oregon State on Friday night.

Aari McDonald was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 on Jan. 9 and is the first player in school history to make the list since Shawntinice Polk (2003-04).

McDonald, the nation’s third-leading scorer, had her three-game 30-point streak broken against Stanford, but has still scored at least 15 points in all 16 games this season, making her the first Wildcat to do so.

Arizona is looking to break a nine-game losing streak vs. the Beavers and will go for their first win over a top-10 team since beating No. 7 Stanford in 2004.

McDonald is the first player since Adia Barnes (97-98) to score 30 points in five games in one season.

 Scouting the Beavers

Oregon State is riding a six-game winning streak and is one of the three teams in the Pac-12 to start off the conference slate 4-0. They are led by Destiny Slocum, who was the WBCA National Freshman of the Year while playing for Maryland during the 2016-17 season. She was forced to sit out last year due to NCAA transfer rules. Slocum averages a team-high 14.9 points and 5.8 assists while shooting 42% from three. Mikayla Pivec has also been good for the Beavers, scoring 14.8 points and grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game on 57% shooting.
