(Glendale, AZ) The Most Valuable Player from the 2026 IFL National Championship is returning to the Arizona Rattlers for 2027.
Quarterback Max Meylor has re-signed with the Rattlers after leading the team to its eighth championship with a 62-51 victory over the Green Bay Blizzard on Aug. 16 in Tucson.
Meylor, in his first year with the Rattlers, was named the game’s MVP after throwing three touchdown passes and rushing for two more. His 2-yard touchdown run with 1:13 left in the game gave the Rattlers a 61-51 lead and helped close out the victory.
He started 13 games for the Rattlers last season, including every game in the seven-game winning streak that culminated with three playoff victories and the championship. Arizona was 11-2 in his 13 starts.
Meylor was the team’s leading passer and rusher during the season. He had a 65% completion percentage, throwing for 2,076 yards and 42 touchdowns while sharing starts with Drew Powell. He rushed for 520 yards and 19 touchdowns.
That came a season after he was named IFL Most Valuable Player in 2025 while with the Blizzard. He signed with Arizona as a free agent in October of last year.
