Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (0-1, 0-1 in ACCAC) could not find an answer to Arizona Western College’s offense in its season opener.
The Aztecs fell 5-1 to the No. 15 ranked Matadors as they trailed 5-0 after the first half.

Freshman Gabriela Jasso (Cienega HS) put the Aztecs on the board with her goal in the 72nd minute. It was assisted by freshman Maya Ahumada (Tucson HS).
The Aztecs outshot the Matadors 7-6 and sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) finished with one save.
The Aztecs look to rebound in their home opener on Saturday against Chandler-Gilbert Community College at Kino North Stadium. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
