(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (2-0) put together another offensive showcase on Thursday in the first day of the Pima Fall Invitational.
The Aztecs defeated Dallas College Eastfield 128-82 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
The Aztecs took their first double digit lead at 19-9 with a little over 14 minutes left and led by as much as 34 points in the first half. The Aztecs held a 62-30 lead over the Harvester Bees heading into the locker room.
The Aztecs outscored Eastfield 66-52 for the second half and led by as much as 52 points.
Pima out-rebounded Eastfield 70-24 for the game. The Aztecs went 45 for 66 (.682) from the field and were able to get to the foul line with ease as they went 32 for 49 (.653) from the stripe.
Freshman Gabe Oldham finished the game with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds as he went 11 for 12 from the field.
Sophomore Moses Demalek (Paradise Valley HS) shot 9 for 10 from the floor with 21 points as he also added six rebounds off the bench. Freshman Wes Ball (Marana HS) closed out the game with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds off the bench as he was 5 for 5 shooting.
Sophomore Jaylen Alexander scored 14 points with seven rebounds and four assists while freshman Cohenj Gonzales (Mesquite HS) added 12 points as he went 2 for 3 from three-point range.
The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Friday for the second day of the Pima Invitational. They face off against Wenatchee Valley College at 4:00 p.m.
