(Gilbert, AZ) Park University Gilbert ice hockey head coach Jeff Zimmel has announced the program is holding its second and third tryout camps this month as the Bucs will host camps on Monday, November 21 at 7:40 p.m. and Sunday, November 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Ice Center in Mesa, Ariz. (140 N. Country Club Dr.)
On November 21, there will be a pizza available at 5 p.m. for any high school senior who wants to attend regardless of whether they skate or not. The skate will begin at 7:40 p.m. for players who wish to participate. The skate is slated to go for one hour.
On Sunday, November 27, the skate will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run for 90 minutes.
Cost for participation in the camp is $25 for one session or $40 for both.
These camps are to introduce high schools students and hockey players to Park University Gilbert. This will give players an opportunity to be seen by the coaching staff and to get to know the staff.
Park University Gilbert is exploring starting a hockey program beginning in the 2022-23 school year, playing its games in the ACHA at the Division III level.
