(Scottsdale, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (8-1-1, 5-1-1 in ACCAC) picked up an ACCAC conference victory on the road on Tuesday at Scottsdale Community College (5-6, 3-3).
The No. 5 ranked Aztecs scored four unanswered goals in the second half to beat the Artichokes 5-1.
Sophomore Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) continued his hot streak as he put the Aztecs ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 29th minute that was assisted by sophomore Fernando Garate (Salpointe Catholic HS). He finished the game with a hat trick finding the back of the net in the 73rd and 76th minutes. He has scored eight goals in the last three games.
The Artichokes tied the game at 1-1 early in the second half after a goal by Josemaria Tapia in the 54th minute.
Sophomore Cristian Gutierrez (Cholla HS) put the Aztecs ahead for good with his goal in the 66th minute. Sophomore Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) added an insurance goal a minute later with an assist from sophomore Brian Vu (Rincon HS).
Osornio and freshman Eduardo Saucedo had the assists in Bianchi’s final two goals.
The Aztecs finished with 11 shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Cristian Sattin had four saves.
The Aztecs have three games left in the regular season; two will be played at the West Campus Aztec Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex. Pima will host Yavapai College on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
