Delaney Buntin produces second hat trick of the season as Aztecs Women’s Soccer blanks Mesa CC

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (6-1, 3-1 in ACCAC) set the tone in the first half on Saturday in its match at Mesa Community College (1-8, 1-4).

The No. 2 ranked Aztecs netted four goals in the first half and went on to earn their sixth shutout win in seven games after beating the Thunderbirds 5-0.

Sophomore Delaney Buntin (Cienega HS) finished with her second hat trick of the season as she scored in the 7th, 15th and 21st minutes to put Pima up 3-0. She now has eight goals on the season. Sophomore Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro HS) assisted in the first goal and sophomore Caitlyn Maher (Catalina Foothills HS) provided the setups in the next two goals.

Sophomore Riley Bonner (Cienega HS) capped off the barrage in the first half with her goal off of a rebound in the 27th minute. The Aztecs got one in the second half off an own goal in the 77th minute.

Sophomore Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished the game with two saves. Freshman Adrianna Pacheco (Cienega HS) was at the net in the second half and had no saves.

The Aztecs will play a make-up game on Tuesday at Glendale Community College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
