Women’s Cross Country opens 2026 season at Dave Murray Invitational

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s cross country team competed in its first meet of the 2026 season on Friday as part of the Dave Murray Invitational held at Silverlake Park. It was hosted by the University of Arizona.

The No. 11 ranked Aztecs finished in third place with 80 points. The University of Arizona took first place with 28 points while Arizona State University claimed second with 29 points.

Freshman Rayleigh Olsen (Benson HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs as she took 13th place out of 31 competitors in the 4K race with a time of 14 minutes, 40.3 seconds. She earned 11 team points towards the team score.

Freshman Meredith Bauman (Flagstaff HS) finished the race in 17th place with a time of 15:00.3 earning 15 team points while freshman Annabelle Haskins crossed the finish line in 20th place at 15:17.2, posting 17 team points.

Freshman Maysen White (Crismon HS) took 23rd place at 15:19.9 and freshman Damira Allen (Ganado HS) rounded out the top five, taking 26th after being clocked at 15:52.0.

The Aztecs will compete at the Southern Showcase Invitational held at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, AL on Friday, Sept. 18.
