(Thousand Oaks, CA)  The Park-Gilbert Buccaneers continued their strong start to the 2026 season Thursday night, earning a 2-0 road victory over California Lutheran University at William Rolland Stadium in Thousand Oaks.

After a scoreless opening half, the Buccaneers came out with increased pressure after halftime. Olli Saksinenbroke the deadlock in the 49th minute, giving Park-Gilbert a 1-0 advantage. The Bucs continued to create opportunities and doubled their lead in the 67th minute when Brody Donovan found the back of the net.

Park-Gilbert also put together a strong defensive performance throughout the match. Goalkeeper Nicklas Lagesen recorded the shutout, making one save to preserve the clean sheet. The Buccaneers limited Cal Lutheran to just five total shots and one shot 0 on goal.

Offensively, Park-Gilbert finished with eight total shots and five shots on goal, while also earning five corner kicks. The Bucs remained composed defensively and never allowed Cal Lutheran to find a way back into the match.

With the 2-0 victory, Park-Gilbert moves forward with a strong road result and plenty of momentum early in the season. The Buccaneers will travel to Pasadena, CA, on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. to take on Caltech.
