(Prescott, AZ). The Pima Community College women’s soccer team opened the 2026 regular season on Saturday at Yavapai College (1-2).
The No. 7 ranked Aztecs defeated the Roughriders 4-0 after scoring three goals in the second half to take control.
Sophomore Alyssa Allan scored two goals for the game. She put the Aztecs up 2-0 with her goal in the 55thminute that was assisted by freshman Emma Cazares (Salpointe Catholic HS). Allan netted the final goal of the contest in the 88th minute.
Sophomore Ava Dagnino (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored Pima’s first goal of the season with an assist from freshman Ryan McCauley (Canyon del Oro HS) in the 12th minute. Sophomore Yajaira Cervantes (Tucson Magnet HS) added to Pima’s lead in the 63rd minute with an assist from freshman Mandy Tran (Salpointe Catholic HS).
The Aztecs finished with 10 shots on goal while the Roughriders had five. Sophomore Angelina Moraga (Sabino HS) closed out the match with three saves in 72 minutes of play. Freshman Vanessa Ceja finished with two saves in 18 minutes.
The Aztecs will play their home opener at the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday in a non-conference game against Mohave College. The teams are on the pitch at 5:00 p.m.
