(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball program gained another accolade from the NJCAA for the 2025-26 season, but this one goes to head coach.
Todd Holthaus, who just completed his 19th season at the helm, was named the NJCAA Division II National Coach of the Year. This is his first nod for the national award.
Holthaus led the Aztecs to their first NJCAA Division II National Championship after his team defeated Kirkwood Community College 64-58 in the final. The Aztecs finished with a 30-4 record: the first 30-win season in program history. They also closed the season with an 18-game winning streak.
He was named the NJCAA Division II Coach of the Tournament, earned his third selection as ACCAC Division II Coach of the Year (2009, 2016, 2026) and ninth nod as NJCAA West District Coach of the Year (2009, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2025, 2026).
Holthaus won his 400th career game at Pima when his squad defeated Yavapai College 99-55 on Nov. 4. He has a career record of 429-180 in 19 seasons. The Aztecs have won nine Region I, Division II/West District Championships and 10 overall, including the Southwest District Championship in 2020-21 under Holthaus.
The Aztecs have won 20 or more games in 10 straight seasons (excluding the 2020-21 covid season) and have double digit victories in the ACCAC conference since the 2008-09 season.
Holthaus has coached 21 of the 22 Women’s Basketball NJCAA All-Americans and has produced an All-American in 16 of his 19 seasons.
