(Mesa, AZ) The Park University Gilbert beach volleyball team (4-16, 2-12) lost to the Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks (11-6, 8-5) by a score of 4-1, Tuesday morning at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa Ariz.
The Buccaneers closed out the 2026 season with a No. 4 pair win over the No. 9 ranked program in the NAIA. Park-Gilbert’s No. 3 and No. 5 pairs came close to pushing BENU to three sets as they both reached set point in the second.
Benedictine Mesa had already been locked into the No. 3 seed in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference Championships prior to Tuesday morning’s match.
Park-Gilbert celebrated its senior day Tuesday morning, honoring the program’s five seniors and their contributions to Buccaneers volleyball: Isari Vigil, Athena Hice, Elise Langley, Laila Lee, and Kiera DeFaria.
