(Los Mochis, Sinaloa) The losing streak continues for the Tucson baseball team, suffering their second consecutive defeat, this time in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, against the Cañeros, who defeated the team managed by Matías Carrillo 6-5. The
Tucson team has only managed two wins in the second half of the 2025-2026 ARCO Mexican Pacific League season.
An early rally of six runs in the first inning was enough for the Cañeros to secure the victory for the second consecutive day. Jorge Sauceda took the loss, leaving his winning percentage at 9.00 with six losses and no wins.
Erick Filia drove in Cañeros’ first two runs with a double that brought Nick Williams and Isaac Rodríguez home.
Yosmany Tomás added two more with a two-run homer that also brought Filia home, making it 4-0.
An Oscar Soria wild pitch allowed Cañeros to score their fifth run, and Juan Uriarte’s single drove in their sixth.
River Town got on the board for Tucson in the sixth inning on a double play by Agustín Ruiz.
In the seventh inning, Tucson rallied for four runs. Ramón Mendoza’s long single drove in Alexis Wilson and Alejandro Quezada. Jesús Fabela’s single drove in Ramón Mendoza and River Town for the fourth and fifth runs of the game, but it wasn’t enough, and the series remained with the Sinaloa team.
The winning pitcher, Darel Torres, worked 6 innings, striking out 6 without issuing a walk and allowing only 1 run. The save went to reliever Daniel Duarte.
