(Culiacán, Sinaloa) In another night filled with intensity and late-inning drama, the Tucson Baseball Team saw a potential sweep slip away as the Tomateros de Culiacán rallied in the ninth inning to take a 5–4 victory at Estadio Tomateros.
The game began at 5:05 p.m. local time, marking the TBT debut of American left-hander
Austin Warner, who battled in an entertaining pitcher’s duel against former Major Leaguer
Luis Enrique Cessa.

Culiacán jumped ahead early with a pair of runs in the second inning, but Tucson responded
in the fifth when Ramón Mendoza drew a walk and Alexis Wilson, a native of Los Mochis,
launched a two-run homer to even the score.
The Tomateros regained the lead in the seventh, yet Tucson answered quickly. Wilson went
deep again — his second home run of the game and of the season — while River Town
singled, stole second base, and scored on a run-scoring single from Jesús Fabela, giving the
club from southern Arizona a brief 4–3 advantage.
In the top of the ninth, however, Culiacán capitalized on a defensive miscue to tie the game,
and Ramón “La Pulpa” Ríos followed with an RBI single, completing the comeback against
closer Garrett Alexander.

Despite the tough loss, Tucson claimed the series two games to one, its first-ever home
administrative series win, showing offensive consistency and continued improvement
throughout the lineup.
Managed by Willie Romero, the club will finish the week in eighth place in the standings and
now turns its attention to a full road trip against the Mazatlán Venados and the Jalisco
Charros, aiming to carry their offensive momentum and turn strong efforts into more
victories in their inaugural Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico season.
