(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (1-1) bounced back from its 2025-26 season opening loss on Tuesday as it played at Yavapai College (0-3) in Prescott.
The No. 2 ranked Aztecs defeated the Roughriders 99-55 to give coach Todd Holthaus his 400th career win as the Women’s Basketball head coach. He is 400-177 in his 19th season at the helm.

The Aztecs doubled up the Roughriders in the first quarter, taking a 36-18 lead. Pima outscored Yavapai in each quarter, which included a 23-9 fourth quarter.
Sophomore Kiley Sours-Miller (Dream City HS) finished with the game with a team-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. She went 12 for 17 from the field.
Freshman Kahlia Gonzales (Mesquite HS) also scored in double figures as she finished with 12 points on 4 for 8 shooting to go with six assists.
Sophomore Melicia Nelson (Window Rock HS) closed out the game with nine points on 4 for 6 shooting with five assists and three rebounds while sophomore Gabriella Sanchez (Tucson Magnet HS) and freshmen Reigne Waugh and Nevaeh Urenda (Flowing Wells HS) each posted eight points.
Freshman Lucy Fisher (Mesquite HS) added six points and eight rebounds.
The Aztecs will play in the SC4 Thumbcoast Tip-Off from Nov. 13-15. The tournament will be held at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, MI. The Aztecs will open play on Thursday, Nov. 13 when they face-off against Jackson College at 3:00 p.m. (EST); 1:00 p.m. Tucson time.
