(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College volleyball players Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View HS) and Julia Baird received recognition from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference as the duo were selected for regular season honors.
McReynolds, a sophomore outside hitter, became a two-time All-ACCAC and All-Region player as she was selected First Team All-ACCAC Conference Division II and was named to the All-Region I, Division II team. She earned second team All-ACCAC honors in 2024.
McReynolds closed out the regular season with 270 kills (3.51 per set), 212 digs (2.75 per set), 46 aces, 29 assists, 18 total blocks and 326.5 points in 22 matches and 77 sets played. She led the Aztecs in kills, kills-per-set, total attempts (783), aces and points. She finished with 10 double-doubles in kills and digs and had double digits in kills in 19 of the 22 matches she played in.
Baird, a sophomore opposite hitter, was named Second Team All-ACCAC conference. The southpaw played in all 23 matches and led the team making appearances in 85 sets played.
Baird finished with 188 kills (2.21 per set), 215 digs (2.53 per set), 34 blocks, 25 aces, 17 assists and 234.5 points. She was second on the team in digs, blocks and points and third in total attempts (537). She had five matches where she posted double digits in digs and five matches where she had double digits in kills.
The Aztecs will be the No. 4 seed in the Region I, Division II Tournament and will play at No. 1 seed Mesa Community College in the semifinal round on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
