(Tucson, AZ). The Pima Community College women’s soccer team played its final game of the 2025 season on Tuesday at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
The No. 6 seeded Aztecs surrendered two goals in the second half as they fell to No. 3 Heartland Community College 2-0 in the final Pool C game.
The game was scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play. The Hawks (16-3-1) got goals from Paula Igual in the 47th minute and Valeria Agudelo in the 62nd minute.
The Aztecs got shutout for the first time this season and suffered their first loss since Aug. 28, which was their season opener at Mohave Community College.
They had seven total shots and five shots on goal. Sophomore Phoebe Knisley (Canyon del Oro HS) closed out the game with six saves.
The Aztecs close out the 2025 season at 14-2-5 overall. It was the least amount of defeats they’ve had in a season since 2015 when they went 21-2-1. It was the first time they went undefeated in ACCAC conference play since 2007. They claimed the ACCAC Division II Championship and their first Region I, Division II and West District crowns since 2021.
