(Mesa, AZ) The Pima Community College volleyball team’s 2025 season came to an end on Wednesday in its Region I, Division II Semifinals matchup at Mesa Community College (21-7).
The No. 4 seeded Aztecs fell in straight sets to the No. 1 seeded Thunderbirds 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.
Sophomore Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View HS) had a team-high 10 kills to go with eight digs.
Sophomore Julia Baird closed out the match with eight kills and three blocks while fellow sophomore Kendall Snyder (Canyon del Oro HS) added six kills.
Freshman Breeze Schelter finished the match with 18 assists while freshman Alex Jacome (Canyon del Oro HS) posted 17 assists, two aces and seven digs.
The Aztecs closed out the season at 10-14 overall and 6-6 in ACCAC conference play. This was Pima’s third straight appearance in the Region I, Division II Tournament and seventh appearance in the last eight years.
