(Aliso Viejo, CA) The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Men’s and Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team Presented By Under Armour on Thursday afternoon, naming Park University Gilbert’s very own Monty Almaliky and Lauren Runnion to the respective teams.
Almaliky and Runnion are just one of seven forwards to earn the honor of GSAC All-Conference. Both players were the focal point of the Buccaneer offense in 2025, leading the men’s and women’s soccer teams in goals and points.
Monty Almaliky, the junior transfer from Johnson County Community College, scored a total of seven goals in his first season at Park-Gilbert; good enough to crack the top-10 in goals scored in the GSAC. The Wichita, Kan., native netted his fifth and sixth goals of the season while the Bucs were riding a four-game winning streak in October. Almaliky made an immediate impact with the maroon and gold and looks to be a key leader for Park-Gilbert in the 2026 season.
Lauren Runnion, the senior out of Avondale, Ariz., scored the fourth most goals out of anyone in the GSAC this season. Runnion set the Park-Gilbert single-season goals record on senior night against Benedictine Mesa on Oct. 18, which was previously held by Emma Alvarez with seven in 2023. Runnion scored a hat trick in two of the Bucs’ first three games, becoming the first player in program history with multiple hat tricks in a season.
Each All-Conference team held a total of 22 spots, including seven forwards, seven midfielders, six defenders, and two goalkeepers.
