No. 3/18 Swim and Dive win six events at California and Stanford Tri-Meet

(Palo Alto, CA)  Featuring the top swimmers in collegiate swimming, No. 3/18 Swim and Dive won six events Friday afternoon at Avery Aquatic Center after the first day of the No. T4/5 California and No. 8/3 Stanford tri-meet. The men lead both Bay Area schools 106-90 heading into tomorrow’s final day of competition which concludes tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. MST on ACC Network Xtra as part of an ESPN+ subscription and results on Meet Mobile, which also requires a subscription.

The Sun Devil men opened the day strong with a win in the 200 medley relay, hitting the wall in 1:23.54. Remi Fabiani won the first individual event for the Sun Devils in the 200 free in 1:32.56, which is a season-best. Alexa Reyna was third in the 1000 free with a season-best at 9:39.24.

Florida transfer Adam Chaney won the 100 back, setting the fourth fastest time in ASU history in 44.49, with sophomore Lucien Vergnes finishing in second at 46.54. Julia Ullmann was third in the 200 fly at 1:56.64.

Fabiani won the 100 free with a season-best of 41.68 with Jonny Kulow finishing second in 42.02. Michael Hochwalt won the 400 IM in 3:44.33; freshman Hayden Hakes was third in 3:48.21.

Ending off the day, the Sun Devil men placed first and second in the 400 free relay, winning the race in 2:47.07 and placing in second in 2:49.59. Both being the second and fourth fastest times in the country this season, respectively.
