(Gilbert, AZ) The Pima Community College volleyball team (7-10) played a tightly contested matchup against Park University VR on Saturday in Gilbert.
The Aztecs were able to close out the Buccaneers in the fifth-set tiebreaker (25-21, 23-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-11).
Sophomore Julia Baird finished the match with a team-high 14 kills to go along with three blocks. Freshman Alexia Hutchens (Salpointe Catholic HS) fell short of a double-double as she closed it out with 11 kills and nine digs.
Freshman Breeze Schelter posted 28 assists, four kills and four aces.
Freshman Julia Ford (Catalina Foothills HS) finished the match with 15 digs.
The Aztecs will be back on the road on Wednesday when they play their final regular season non-conference match at Central Arizona College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
