(Roswell, NM) The Pima Community College volleyball team (0-2) opened the 2025 season on Friday at the New Mexico Military Institute Classic in Roswell, NM.
The Aztecs finished the day 0-2 and will close out play with two matches on Saturday. Sophomore Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View HS) finished the day with 23 kills and 23 digs while fellow sophomore Julia Weatherbie (Mountain View HS) totaled 51 assists.
Amarillo College Badgers (TX) 3, Pima CC Aztecs 1 (25-15, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16)
The Aztecs were able to tie the match with a second set victory, but the Badgers scored wins in the final two sets.
McReynolds finished the match with a double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs. Weatherbie posted 33 assists while freshman Alexia Hutchens (Salpointe Catholic HS) had double figures with 10 kills. Freshman Alex Jacome (Canyon del Oro HS) added four aces.
(12) Navarro College Bulldogs 3, Pima CC Aztecs 0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-18)
The Aztecs fell in straight sets to the No. 12 ranked Bulldogs (Division I).
McReynolds closed out the match with nine kills and 12 digs while Weatherbie had 18 assists and five aces. Sophomore Kendall Snyder (Canyon del Oro HS) added four kills and two blocks.
The Aztecs will close out play in the NMMI Classic on Saturday when they play Hill College (TX) at 10:00 a.m. (MDT); 9:00 a.m. Tucson time and No. 19 ranked Odessa College (Division I) at 1:00 p.m. (12:00 p.m. Tucson time).
