Women’s Basketball Announces Historic 2024-25 Signing Class

(Gilbert, AZ)  Park University Gilbert women’s basketball head coach Ben York has announced an historic signing class for the 2024-25 season. This class features 19 total recruits to fortify his up-tempo, fast-paced offensive system trademarked “Full Sail.”

After a 2023-24 season which saw the Buccaneers as a team earn a conference tournament berth, set a school record for conference wins, field goals made and three-point field goals made,, York, along conference Player of the Year and All-American, Kayla Schroeder are ready for bigger and better things this season as they move into a new conference.

“We are incredibly excited about every single student-athlete we’ve added to the Park University Women’s Basketball program,” York said. “Not only are they amazing basketball players, they are even better human beings. Anytime someone commits to our program and believes in what we’re trying to accomplish, it’s an honor. There is no doubt these players will make phenomenal additions to our Varsity and Varsity Reserve teams. We can’t wait to get them on campus!”

The class is headlined by DII transfer Coraly Dupree (Bluefield State University), who redshirted with the Buccaneers during the 2021-22 season. In addition, NJCAA D1 transfer Alynna Palacios (Arizona Western College) who averaged eight rebounds per game, freshman 1,000+ point scorer Jacie Bunck (Liberty High School, Colo.), Kiyah Hatcher who helped lead her team to the Elite 8 in the Florida 6A State Playoffs, Multnomah University transfer Savannah Huerta who averaged 19 points per game, and Aubry Saleapaga who was an all-conference first team member from Central Community College in Nebraska bring a high level play to the program. The incoming class includes 9 college transfers and 10 freshmen standouts.

Other transfers include Sage Begay (Pima Community College), Janet Arias (University of Antelope Valley, Calif.), Yuliana Garcia (University of the Southwest, NM), and Jasmine Armstrong (Warner University, FL).

Other freshman who could make an impact include Misha Fuson (AZ Compass Prep, Ariz.), Brooklyn Bickerstaff (Eaglecrest High School, Colo.), Lizzy White (Payson High School, Ariz.), Hannah Mask (Desert Ridge High School, Ariz.), Alanna Gallardo (Basha High School, Ariz.), AJ Williams (San Tan Foothills High School, Ariz.), Neveah Jishie (Chinle High School, Ariz.), and Eliza Brimley (Northeast High School, Tenn.).

The 19 new players join returners Schroeder plus sophomores Mariana Cubero and Kiley Bush, juniors Larken Hoar, Hemani Kalia, Kiana Turenne and Michee Corbin, plus seniors Andraya Dimas, Arianna Reyes, Ky Skinner and Makayla Norman.
