New Conference, Same Great Athletics: Park Gilbert Joins the GSAC

(Gilbert, AZ)  Park University Gilbert Athletics announces its official move to the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) as it enters its sixth year as a program.

Park Gilbert opened its doors in the 2019-20 season and in its first five seasons has seen enormous success as its volleyball team has made two NAIA championship appearances and the Buccaneers track and field program has made individual appearances at the national championships. The Buccaneers have had two conference coach of the year honors (softball and baseball) and the softball program won NAIA National Staff of the Year honors in 2023.

The Buccaneers join the GSAC with Benedictine Mesa and Embry Riddle. They join fellow Arizona schools Arizona Christian and OUAZ along with California schools Hope International, Life Pacific and The Master’s University.

The GSAC has a reputation as one of the best conference brands in the country and boasts the current national champion in baseball in Hope International.

“We are excited about what this move means for us as an athletic department,” says Director of Athletics Angelique Claussen. “We have programs which want to compete as the highest level and this conference gives us the opportunity to achieve this goal.”
