Drake earns First Team All-Conference and All-Region as seven Aztecs Baseball players earn season honors

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College baseball team was represented in the All-ACCAC conference and All-Region I, Division I teams as seven players came away with accolades.

Sophomore RHP J.T. Drake (Los Alamos HS, NM) was selected first team All-ACCAC (Pitcher) and first team All-Region I, Division I. He was named second team All-ACCAC last season.
He was 8-3 in 13 starts with a 2.09 ERA in 77.2 innings pitched. He gave up 18 earned runs with 11 walks and 66 strikeouts. Drake also pitched seven complete games.

Sophomore RHP Garrett Hicks (Verrado HS) was selected first team All-ACCAC (Relief Pitcher) and second team All-Region I, Division I.
Hicks made 20 appearances and went 5-1 with a 2.20 ERA. He made one start and finished with two saves. He pitched 41.0 innings, giving up 10 earned runs with 12 walks and 44 strikeouts.

Sophomore Diego Alvarez (Sahuarita HS) was named second team All-ACCAC (Pitcher) and second team All-Region I, Division I.
Alvarez went undefeated in the regular season going 8-0 in 12 starts with a 3.44 ERA. He pitched four complete-games and a total of 55.0 innings, giving up 21 earned runs with nine walks and 38 strikeouts.

Sophomore Nick Arias (Tucson Magnet HS) was also selected second team All-ACCAC (Infielder) and second team All-Region I, Division I.
Arias batted .346 in 162 at-bats as he played in 47 games. He finished with 41 runs scored, 35 RBIs, 23 walks and six stolen bases hitting primarily in the No. 2 spot in the batting order. He also had 19 extra base hits (14 doubles, one triple and four home runs).

Freshman Collin Senior (Horizon HS) was named second team All-ACCAC (Designated Hitter) and second team All-Region I, Division I.
Senior batted .371 in 105 at-bats as he played in 39 games. He finished with 36 RBIs, 26 runs scored, 24 walks and six stolen bases. He had 11 extra base hits (four doubles, three triples and four home runs).

Sophomore Caleb Herd (Cienega HS) was named second team All-ACCAC (Catcher). He batted .287 in 101 at-bats playing in 40 games. He had 29 RBIs, 26 walks and 23 runs scored. He also added four extra base hits (two doubles, one triple, one home run). Herd had a total of 263 chances, 229 putouts and 27 assists with a fielding percentage of .973.

Sophomore Elijah Reeves (Marana HS) was selected second team All-ACCAC (Outfielder). He batted .387 in 93 at-bats playing in 41 games. Reeves, primarily in the lead-off spot, scored 31 runs, 18 RBIs, 16 walks and 13 stolen bases. He had one triple and one home run. Reeves had no errors playing in center field with 84 total chances, 80 putouts and four assists.

The No. 2 seeded Aztecs will play No. 3 Arizona Western College in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Semifinals at the West Campus Aztec Field. The best-of-3 series begins with Game 1 on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
