Myranda Moreno shoots a personal-best 74 in final round, earns third medal at CGCC Invitational

(Queen Creek, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s golf team closed out the regular season on Monday at the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational held at the Las Colinas Golf Club in Queen Creek.

Sophomore Myranda Moreno (Tucson Magnet HS) earned her third medal of the season as she took third place in the final individual standings with a two-day total of 153. She shot a 79 in Sunday’s first round and finished with a personal-best three-over par 74 in the final round.

Sophomore Kayley Yanez (Marana HS) closed out the tournament in eighth place as she shot a personal-best 5-over par 76 in her final round of play. She had a 9-stroke improvement between rounds as she finished with a 161 (85-76).

Freshman Arianna Rel produced a 7-shot improvement in between rounds as she matched her season-best with an 81 in Monday’s round. She shot a 169 (88-81) for the tournament.

Moreno and Yanez will compete in the NJCAA Southwest District Championships from April 28-May 1 in Weatherford, TX.
