(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College softball team swept the ACCAC Division I honors for the week of Feb. 18-24.
Freshman Jazmyne Waddell (San Manuel HS) and sophomore Alexis Tsosie-Hood were named ACCAC Division I Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively. The Aztecs earned a doubleheader sweep at Phoenix College for the first time since 2015 and earned their first win over the Bears since March 3, 2018.
Waddell finished 1 for 4 with an RBI, two runs scored and a double in Pima’s 10-5 win in the second game.
Tsosie-Hood pitched a complete-game in the first game as she gave up one run (one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
The Aztecs will host their home and ACCAC conference opener on Saturday when they take on No. 14 ranked Phoenix College. First game starts at 12:00 p.m. at the West Campus Aztec Field.
