(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College baseball team (14-4, 2-2 in ACCAC) had its 12-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in its ACCAC doubleheader match-up with Cochise College (13-7, 5-3).
The Aztecs dropped both games as they scored six runs and committed six errors on the day. Sophomore Ruben Castro (Tucson Magnet HS) finished the day 2 for 5 with two RBIs. Sophomore J.T. Drake and freshman Seth Lee took the losses on the mound.
Game 1: Cochise College Apaches 3, Pima College Aztecs 0
The Aztecs managed four hits for the game. Castro finished 1 for 3 while sophomore Jontae Hennesy (Horizon HS), Caleb Herd (Cienega HS) and Elijah Reeves (Marana HS) all went 1 for 2.
The Apaches scored two runs in the 4th inning and one run in the 5th.
Drake took the loss as he pitched six innings, giving up three runs (three earned) on six hits with nine strikeouts and one walk on 96 pitches.

Game 2: Cochise College Apaches 11, Pima College Aztecs 6
The Aztecs took the early lead but the Apaches scored five unanswered runs to help seal it.
Freshman Nolan Ganter (Pinnacle HS) put the Aztecs ahead in the 1st inning with an RBI single to score sophomore Nick Arias (Tucson Magnet HS). Castro followed with a sacrifice-fly RBI to bring in sophomore David Shackelford as Pima led 2-0.
Arias broke open a tie game with an RBI single in the 4th inning bringing in freshman Collin Senior (Horizon HS) to make it 3-2.
With the Aztecs trailing 4-3, Castro tied it up in the 5th inning with an RBI single driving in Shackelford, who led off the inning with a single.
The Aztecs tied the game again in the 6thinning as Shackelford hit an RBI double to drive in sophomore Antonio Avila. Ganter make it 6-6 when he followed with an RBI single to plate Shackelford.
The Apaches scored three in the 7th inning and two runs in the 8th inning.
Ganter finished the game 2 for 4 with two RBIs while Castro went 1 for 2 with two RBIs. Shackelford was 2 for 4 with an RBI and three runs. Arias closed it out going 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run and Avila was 1 for 4 with a run.
Lee took the loss in relief as he pitched one inning, giving up three runs (none earned) on one hit with one walk.

The Aztecs will hit the road on Tuesday when they play at Arizona Western College in an ACCAC conference doubleheader. First game starts at 12:00 p.m.
