Aztecs Men’s Basketball drains 13 3-pointers to outpace Scottsdale CC

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (13-1, 5-1 in ACCAC) won its fifth straight game on Wednesday as it got back to ACCAC conference play at Scottsdale Community College (7-3, 3-2).

The No. 14 ranked Aztecs defeated the Artichokes 110-80 as the Aztecs hit 13 3-pointers and five players scored in double figures.

The Aztecs took a 62-45 lead at halftime and outscored Scottsdale 48-35 in the second half.

Sophomore Dillan Baker (Salpointe Catholic HS) hit seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points. He also had four rebounds.

Sophomore Jaylen Alexander finished with 21 points and nine rebounds while freshman Gabe Oldham scored 11 of his 15 points in the first half. He also added five rebounds and two blocks.

Freshman Cohenj Gonzales (Mesquite HS) posted 10 points, four assists and three steals. Sophomore Tanner Poeschl (Skyline HS) had 10 points and three rebounds off the bench.

Sophomore Zach Williamson added six points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Aztecs will play at Cochise College on Saturday. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
