Jaylen Alexander’s double-double earns ACCAC Division II Player of the Week honors

(Tucson, A)  Pima Community College men’s basketball player Jaylen Alexander (Columbia HS, Idaho) produced big numbers in Pima’s game at Mesa Community College last Saturday and received recognition from the ACCAC conference.

Alexander, a sophomore forward, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 3-9.

Alexander finished with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three steals and two assists as he shot 10 for 11 from the field in Pima’s 109-88 win last Saturday over the Thunderbirds.

Alexander has played in all eight games; making seven starts averaging 17.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

The No. 14 ranked Aztecs are back on the court tonight as they play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
