Freshman guard Rylei Waugh earns second nod as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College women’s basketball player Rylei Waugh (Westchester HS, CA) earned praise from the ACCAC conference as she helped the Aztecs go 2-0 during the week of Dec. 10-16.

Waugh, a freshman guard, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the second time this season. She got her first selection for the week of Nov. 5-11.

Waugh scored a combined 40 points and flirted with a pair of triple-doubles as the Aztecs picked up victories at Chandler-Gilbert Community College and against South Mountain Community College. She averaged 20.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the week.

Waugh has played and started in all 10 games averaging 15.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

The Aztecs are off until the Aztec Holiday Classic from Dec. 28-30 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. They will begin the invitational on Thursday, Dec. 28 against Bismarck State College (ND). Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
