Rattlers re-sign Jamal Miles and Lamar Mady

(Glendale, AZ)   The Arizona Rattlers have re-signed WR Jamal Miles and OL Lamar Mady for the 2024 IFL season.

Jamal Miles- WR, 5’10”, 180 (Arizona State University)

Jamal Miles will enter his seventh season as a member of the Rattlers in 2024.

Last season Miles hauled in 50 receptions for 530 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also chipped in for 200 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns in the ground attack, displaying the versatility that Rattlers fans are accustomed to.

In 2022, Miles led the IFL in All-Purpose Yards (2,019) and kickoff return touchdowns (4). He also finished 2nd in kickoff return yards (996), 6th in receiving yards (708), and 9th in touchdowns (22), putting together an extremely productive season across the board.

The versatile running back/wide receiver is a local product that attended Peoria High School and played collegiately at Arizona State. Before signing with the Rattlers, Miles spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Edmonton Eskimos.
 
During his time at Arizona State University, he was named an All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention in 2010, and second-team All-Pac-12 in 2011. During his four years at Arizona State, Miles had 128 receptions for 995 yards and 80 kickoff returns for a school record of 1,866 yards. Miles attended Peoria High School, where he rushed for 2,168 yards on 231 carries as a senior, earning him first-team All-4A conference honors.

Lamar Mady – OL, 6’2″, 315 (Youngstown State)

Lamar Mady will join the Arizona Rattlers for his eighth season with the team. Mady has multiple awards and recognitions including three seasons of first-team All-IFL Honors (2017-2019) and three seasons of second-team All-IFL Honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

In the 2023 season, Mady was an integral part of the offensive line for the number-one-ranked offense in the IFL. His presence also keyed a ground attack that had 53 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards on the season. Lamar has established himself as a leader and one of the more reliable veterans in the league during his time in the desert.

Mady played in seven games for the Oakland Raiders in 2013, and was on their practice squad from 2013-2017. He started his collegiate career at Butler County Community College where he was first-team All-Jayhawk Conference and first-team All-Region VI.

After this Mady transferred to Youngstown State where he played in 22 games where he did not allow any sacks or pressure.

The Topeka, Kansas native attended Topeka High School where he earned first-team All-Centennial League selection and second-team All-Centennial League pick. He played as a center and a defensive tackle.
