(Mesa, AZ)  The Park University Gilbert men’s basketball team dropped a 107-75 contest to OUAZ, a team receiving votes in the latest NAIA top-25 poll. The Bucs record evens at 3-3 on the season. The Spirit up their record to 4-2.

The Bucs jumped out early in the first half taking leads of 13-8 and 19-16. But a 13-1 run from this point (11:09) put the Spirit in the lead for good as they made nine three-pointers in the first half. The Bucs did not shoot poorly at 43 percent, but the Spirit shot 51 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the arc. OUAZ also owned a significant advantage at the free throw line with 14 attempts to only five for Park. The Spirit converted on 12 of those attempts from the charity stripe.

The second half was played evenly for most of the half with OUAZ only outscoring the Bucs by seven. The Spirit stayed consistent shooting 51 percent from the floor but their three-point shooting dropped the 35 percent in the second half. The Bucs shot 44 percent in the second half.

The Bucs had four players in double figures led by Terrance Ward with 12 points, Guard Caleb Ivy led the team in rebounds for the third time this season with 7 boards while fellow guard LC Ballard had six rebounds and led the team with three assists.

Park Gilbert returns to action next Tuesday, November 28 as they open Cal Pac Conference play at home against Benedictine Mesa at Legacy Sports Park starting at 7:30 p.m.
